The Forbidden Tancón Natural Pool

The natural pool in Puerto Santiago inside Cueva el Tancón is a natural pool that is very dangerous if the tide is bad, but if the weather permits, this natural pool in the south of Tenerife is a dream place, like the ones you see in the movies.

Its access is not complicated, it is located at the back of the Barceló Puerto Santiago Hotel, the closest pedestrian street is Calle Honduras, nearby is also the Mirador El Tancón.

The natural environment of the area is fantastic, we have spectacular views of Los Acantilados de Los Gigantes, another of the natural pools of southern Tenerife nearby, such as the Los Gigantes Natural Pool, a spectacular climate with an average of 22 degrees all year round and the sea breeze.

To enter the water of the Tancón pool, you go through a hole in the rocks that allows you access to this pool, which in turn is connected to the sea by another opening. This makes the currents and waves very dangerous at certain times, so this must be taken into account before accessing the Tancón.

Virgin's Pool in Arico (Natural Pool)

How to get to Charco de la Virgen in Arico?

Another of the natural pools found in the South of the Island is the pool found in Arico called the Charco de la Virgen, which is reached by Calle Nuestra Señora Carmen, in the town of La Jaca.

This pool is a circular formation in the rock, with little depth, where the water remains stagnant when the tide is low and leaves the possibility of bathing in it.

It is located on the right side of La Jaca beach, leaving a pleasant view of the sea, the town and the beach itself, another natural pool to visit in Tenerife.
